Conister Bank gives green light to a sustainable future
Conister Bank is pledging its commitment to a sustainable future both for itself and the businesses it supports.
The bank aims to provide financial options to businesses and individual customers to support an environmental, sustainable and resilient future.
It will promote clean energy, both in the working practices at its Douglas office and in encouraging other businesses to follow suit and aims to be an active participant in reducing the environmental impact of how we live and work.
Managing Director Douglas Grant said: ‘While we may not be able to change the world on our own what we can do is make a positive difference.
‘Everybody in this business – anybody in business – can make a difference. We will reduce our own carbon footprint and hope that one day to become carbon neutral.
‘We are looking at ourselves first but then we are also looking our client base and how we can help our customers to achieve the same.’

Conister Bank's Lee Gale travels up North!
Conister Bank’s Sales Manager Lee Gale is responsible for looking after our customers in the North of the island.
Following a difficult year for the island, Conister Bank understands the importance of supporting local and its role and being part of the Manx community.
Conister has been helping local people and businesses since 1935 and as an independent bank understands the needs of the island’s businesses and community.
Lee is very proud of Conister’s history of supporting the Isle of Man community, both its businesses and its people, and is keen to increase the Bank’s presence in the North of the island. Every Thursday Lee travels to Ramsey to meet customers old and new and is a familiar face at Conrods on Parliament Street.

Kin is a welcome addition to the Conister team and with his vast experience within the financial sector he will be instrumental in facilitating the strategic projects planned for 2021 and beyond.

Conister Bank's Andrew Moody ventures down South!
Conister Bank’s Sales Manager, Andrew Moody, is responsible for looking after our customers in the South of the island.
Andrew is well known in the South as this is where he grew up and still lives. He continues to be involved in southern clubs such as football and golf.
Andrew has been with Conister for nearly two years, his professional and personable attitude along with his strong knowledge of the industry, is why he is highly respected by his co-workers and customers.
Andrew does not want to be confined to the office based in Douglas and loves to get out into the community and meet people. Every Thursday Andrew travels to the south to meet customers old and new and is a familiar face in Coffee Craft.

Conister Bank returns to normal opening hours
As from Monday 1st February when normality returns to the island as the ‘Circuit Breaker’ lockdown ends, Conister Bank will return to our normal opening hours. The office is open Monday to Thursday 9am – 5.30pm and Friday 9am – 5pm.
Throughout the islands second lockdown Conister Bank continued to operate within the normal parameters, providing the customers and businesses with financial support. With the option of Apply Online and our Approved Partner finance portals, it really was business as usual throughout this period.
We are pleased to be back in the office with no social distancing, no enforced mask wearing and a healthy team.

Conister Bank reports growth for lending in 2020
• 2020 lending totals £36.7m, surpassing 2019 by 16%
• Conister Bank has allocated £10 million to provide financial assistance to local businesses affected by COVID-19.

This year we have enhanced our online lending ability; entered new markets; deepened our Approved Partner relationships and supported the local SME market when it mattered most. In addition to supporting the government’s COVID-19 business loan schemes, we took action ourselves and set aside £10 million to help limit the damage the pandemic was having on our community. We are proud to be the Island’s only independent bank, and for us, it was an easy decision to make.”
