Climbing Together: Empowering Kids with Sight Matters and Conister Bank

At Conister Bank, our commitment to ethics and transparency isn't just a statement—it's a core value that guides our actions and decisions. As a community bank deeply rooted in the Isle of Man, we strive to support initiatives that enhance the well-being and prosperity of our local community. This year, we are proud to support Sight Matters, a local charity that plays a vital role in the community. Sight Matters is dedicated to improving the lives of over 500 people with significant sight loss on the Isle of Man. Through the tireless efforts of its dedicated staff and more than 200 volunteers, the charity provides a wide range of services and support to those in need.

As a community-focused bank, Conister Bank is dedicated to building strong relationships with the people and businesses we serve. We understand that the strength of our community is the foundation of our success, which is why we actively seek opportunities to give back and contribute to local causes. Supporting Sight Matters is one of the many ways we demonstrate our commitment to making a positive impact in our community.

Recently, Andy Bass and Kerry Waddington from Conister had the pleasure of spending time with Sight Matters' Younger Members Group during an exciting visit to Hot Rocks Climbing Wall. This group offers children with visual impairments the chance to participate in activities they might not otherwise experience. Thanks to the specialised support provided by Sight Matters, these activities are accessible and free of charge for the children and their families.

Sight loss can affect anyone at any stage of life, and the impact on individuals and their families can be profound. Without donations and community support, Sight Matters would not be able to continue offering its extensive range of services to those who rely on them most. These services are crucial in helping individuals maintain independence, build confidence, and enjoy a high quality of life.

At Conister Bank, we believe in the power of community and the importance of lending a helping hand to those who need it most. We invite you to join us in supporting this incredible charity by participating in the Coast 2 Coast Walk! This 12-mile walk, taking place on the 8th of September, follows the beautiful Heritage Trail along the old railway lines from Douglas to Peel. By taking part, you'll not only enjoy a scenic route but also make a tangible difference in the lives of our visually impaired community members.

Your involvement and generosity will have a direct and positive impact on those facing sight loss. Every step you take and every donation you make helps ensure that Sight Matters can continue its vital work in our community. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those who need it most.

Sign up for the Coast 2 Coast Walk today!
